About

My name is Carly Lloyd and I am studying my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) through Macquarie University. I have previously completed my Diploma of Children’s Services and have worked with all age groups, through both practicals and working as a casual employee.

I have been a room leader twice, though due to university commitments and personal reasons, I left both positions. First was in the beginning of 2008 with the birth – fifteen months age group in the city of Sydney and the second was at Olympic Park with the three – five year olds at the end of 2009.

I am halfway through my fourth year at university. I am currently undertaking the Internship and Child Development units' this semester.

I feel that many of my strengths include my ability to talk to staff, children and parents, and working within a collaborative learning environment. I feel that I am a capable observer and planner and enjoy using pedagogical documentation, projects, learning centres to further the children’s interests. I have an interest in mathematics, science and technology and find dramatic play insightful.

I believe that children need to be nurtured within their environment and that there needs to be open communication from all people involved in the development of the child, as children learn through their social contexts.

I come from the Mid North Coast and moved to Sydney at the beginning of 2008. I have always been around children during my upbringing. I love working with children and have a real passion for this industry.

My current mission and vision is to work within the early childhood industry before becoming a director of a centre and eventually owning and directing my own centre.
